Bedminster is a township in Somerset County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 8,165. It was 7,086 at the time of the 1990 Census. In 2000, there were 8,302 residents. The town’s population is continuing to grow. Its population is expected to reach over ten thousand by 2031.
The town’s equestrian roots run deep. The city’s biggest event, the Far Hills Race Meeting, attracts tens of thousands each year. The United States Equestrian Team’s Hamilton Farm is also located here. Bedminster is a traditional Republican stronghold. In the 2016 Presidential Election, Trump narrowly defeated Clinton by eight votes. However, Clinton carried Somerset County.
Bedminster NJ is located in the Somerset Hills region, about an hour west of New York City. It is an excellent place to raise a family. Trump’s estate is close to Bedminster. He has spent a great deal of time in Bedminster. In 2013, he told local officials that he “appreciates” the Bedminster ethic. Major county roads pass through Bedminster. There is also service provided by New Jersey Transit at the Far Hills station on the Morris & Essex Lines. In addition, Somerset County operates bus service along Route 206. Route 78 connects Bedminster with the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.
