Bedminster is a township in Somerset County, New Jersey. It is home to approximately 8,165 people. As of the 2010 Census, the population of Bedminster was 8,165, compared with 8,302 in the 2000 Census and 7,086 in the 1990 Census. Its population is a diverse mix of residents from a variety of backgrounds and ages.
Bedminster has a long and rich equestrian history. The town hosts the Far Hills Race Meeting, an annual steeplechase race, which attracts tens of thousands of spectators. The township is also home to Hamilton Farm, which is home to the United States Equestrian Team. Although Bedminster has a conservative history, it has recently embraced change. In the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump narrowly defeated Hillary Clinton by eight votes. The township is currently undergoing a major development project called Bedminster Hills.
The town is home to several prominent residents. The moneyed class of Bedminster is considered an integral part of the community and many of them serve on town boards and commissions. For example, Steve Forbes, the editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, lives nearby Trump National. Other notable residents include former governors Thomas Kean and D. Bedminster NJ is a community of about 8,344 residents in Somerset County. It is situated at the crossroads of two major interstate highways. These highways have brought about a significant amount of growth to the town, including numerous office buildings and the AT&T and Verizon Wireless corporate headquarters. However, local town leaders have worked hard to maintain the open space and farmland that is characteristic of this area.
Bedminster is home to several major banks. The most popular is the JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association, while the second largest is Peapack-Gladstone Bank. The third most popular bank is PNC Bank, National Association. The township has a diverse population, but most of the residents are white.
Bedminster has many Revolutionary War connections. The town is the resting place of John Honeyman, an informant for George Washington who supplied important information to Washington in the Battle of Trenton. Honeyman lived to the age of 93, and he is buried in Lamington Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Despite these scandals, Donald Trump continues to hold his rallies and meetings at his Bedminster estate. The township is home to many other notable golf courses in the area, including the Trump National Golf Course. It is also home to two 18-hole world-renowned golf courses.
