Bedminster is a bubble town in central New Jersey. It is known for sprawling expanses, horse farms, and 300-acre estates. In fact, the town was sued by a developer who wanted to build affordable housing. When he was refused, the developer built an entire suburb, called the Hills, which was made up of the same beige houses.
Bedminster NJ is home to the Trump National Golf Course. The 45th President chose the location as his summer White House. A number of other prominent golf courses are located in Bedminster Township. The golf club was originally known as Lamington Farm, but Trump purchased it in 2001 after being a minority partner in the Lamington Farm Club LLC. In addition to the Trump family, there are also many notable people who reside in the town. Steve Forbes, the editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, lives in Bedminster. His father, Malcolm Forbes, was also buried nearby. Several other prominent residents of Bedminster include former governors of New Jersey, including Thomas Kean and D. Douglas Dillon. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis also owned a residence here.
